2016 May Jeju Island Conferences were Successfully Held

      From May 23rd to 25th, 2016, the 5th International Conference on Environment, Energy and Biotechnology (ICEEB), the 6th International Conference on Asia Agriculture and Animal (ICAAA) and the 5th International Conference on Chemical and Process Engineering (ICCPE) were held successfully in Jeju Island, South Korea.
 
     The conferences brought together over 70 scholars in the related field all over the world. Conference co-chair, Prof. Young Sun Mok from Jeju National University (South Korea) started the opening remarks. Then, Prof. Byoung Ryong Jeong from Gyeongsang National University (South Korea) presented the keynote speech topic in “Plant tissue culture: Tool for mass propagation and study of ornamental and medicinal germplasm”. Prof. Young Sun Mok followed with keynote speech topic in “Energy-efficient treatment of greenhouse gas nitrous oxide using non-thermal plasma coupled with adsorption”. After coffee break, Prof. Gede Wibawa from Sepuluh Noprember Institute of Technology (Indonesia) brought excellent plenary speech topic in “The Performance of Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC Models in Prediction of Ternary Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium for Alcohols + Glycerol + Water Systems Based on Binary Interaction Parameter Pairs”. The audience actively involved in the Q&A after each speech and gained great knowledge from those brilliant presentations.
 
      Branch session with variety related topics are held by difference session chairs after the keynote speeches. Conference participants made presentations to share their work with scholars and got sincere advice from others. Best papers were selected by the session chair and rewarded for each session.

      In the next day, participants visited the Jeju Smart Grid Test Bed. Jeju Smart Grid is the largest Smart Grid community in the world that allows the testing of the most advanced Smart Grid technologies and R&D results, as well as the development of business models. Korea is also pursuing sustainable development while dealing with climate change. At the same time, it is shifting toward a low carbon economy and a society capable of recovering from climate change. As part of these efforts, Korea launched a Smart Grid national project to achieve green growth in a transparent, comprehensive, effective, and efficient way. This project envisions laying the foundation for a low carbon, green-growth economy by building a Smart Grid. After then, participants also visited Sunrise Peak and Seobjikoji Beach. It was an educational and interesting day.

      The conferences are aimed to introduce the latest technological development and academic research on hot issues of the related field. It provided a platform for domestic and foreign experts and technicians to exchange ideas and achievements.
